Maiev Shadowsong says: Time to deliver a message to the Legion. Send this one back in pieces! Maiev Shadowsong says: Victory by victory, we push back against the tide of this invasion.

Well done! Maiev Shadowsong says: We have much work to do. Grant this demon a swift death. Maiev Shadowsong says: Well done! Your skills are sharper than any weapon of the Legion. Maiev Shadowsong says: Well struck, champion. Remain on your guard. Maiev Shadowsong says: You are too quick to trust Illidan, Prophet.

I will ensure he fulfills his duty. Please keep the following in mind when posting a comment: Your comment must be in English or it will be removed. Unsure how to post? Check out our handy guide! As Akama departed, Maiev found herself wondering if she could trust him again and spent her time plotting a spell that would help her trap Illidan. For many years, Maiev's fate was unknown. Many believed she had died in Outland. After the Dark Portal was opened, however, it was found out that she had been imprisoned within the Warden's Cage in Shadowmoon Valley, guarded by Akama and his Ashtongue Deathsworn.

She noticed that Akama seemed to be just sitting there, scheming, while Illidan's grasp over Outland tightened. However, Akama was secretly biding his time until he could strike at Illidan. When the time came, he let her escape and joined forces to overthrow Illidan and, aided by the Aldor and Scryers, entered the Black Temple. Maiev quickly split off from the rest of the forces to go after Illidan alone, eventually finding him at the top of the temple with a band of adventurers at his mercy.

Freeing them, she joined the battle against him, In the end, as Illidan lay dying, Maiev told him he was beaten, but Illidan scoffed, saying that the Huntress is nothing without the hunt. With her prey slain, Maiev realized that Illidan was right, and that she was, indeed, nothing without him. Maiev took the Betrayer's body and encased it in the Vault of the Wardens so that his dark, lingering soul could suffer in eternity, justice finally served.

She also imprisoned his surviving Illidari along with his body in the Vault, vowing never to allow the fel-touched demon hunters to roam free ever again. Following Illidan's re-imprisonment, Maiev returned back home, but her ideals set conflict with the rest of Night Elf society.

Despite this tension, Maiev remains dedicated to protecting the world and her people. She eventually lead her fellow Wardens to the Broken Isles during the third invasion of the Burning Legion, and reuniting with her brother Jarod.

She would later take part in the Assault on Broken Shore. When the Burning Legion began their largest invasion of Azeroth ever, they attacked the Vault of the Wardens in search of Illidan's imprisoned body. With no other choice, Maiev freed the Demon Hunters who had languished in her prison for years.

Together, Maiev, the Demon Hunters, and the Wardens still loyal to Maiev fought off the demons from the Vault, but it was too late to stop what the Legion had come there to do; Gul'dan and Cordana Felsong succeeded in retrieving Illidan's body and left. When Illidan was stolen from the Vault of the Wardens, Maiev pursued them and was captured.

She was presumed missing. Wardens loyal to Maiev began to search for her across the Broken Isles, and Jarod volunteered to help them. Maiev is freed from Black Rook Hold, where she reveals that Gul'dan raised Kur'talos Ravencrest and his soldiers to protect the secrets within the tower, with the ghost of Desdel Stareye protecting the dungeons. In her reunion with Jarod, she is surprised that he came for her even after her failure.

But Jarod says to forget about it. She followed him into Outland, and, guessing by what I see in the other screenshot, was captured, and is now guarded by Akama, one of Illidan's henchmen. From what I've heard, she Maiev sends you on a quest, where at the end, you face off with Illidan, and to ease the batle, she and the newly friendly Akama help take Illidan down.

Comment by While she and Akama will join the fight against Illidan, I believe that the end of the Illidan encounter will most certainly be a scipted event where someone intervenes on Illidan's behalf Comment by He is not trapped in the Emerald Dream.. All the arcdruids agreed to slumber in the Emerald Dream on request of one of the Aspects.. If needed he can be called back im sure.. But when you are going to take on Illidan Stormrage, which is one of the main char in the entire Warcraft history, in quite sure blizz will make it a big event..

And I believe that Malfurion and Tyrande will be included more or less in the act.. Everything less I will be greatly disapointed.. And furthermore, it hurts me badly that I have to fight Illidan, and truly hope he survive somehow.. Illidan have been dead once already.. We only need to see Arthas now.. He was kinda the main char in Warcraft 3 RoC.. Comment by CK23 I wish that we could venture into the emerald dream, would be nice encounter the druids of the grove But aye Comment by Rizzu As a side note, in WoW, Maiev Shadowsong actually has the sprite of Blood Elf female, and anyone who says otherwise oblivously hasn't played enough to notice ;D When she comes up to the cage, take note of her kick, roar, and idle animation of her standing there with her head tilting to the side like a retard, not to mention extremly thin stomach.

Comment by Isilvara It should also be stated, for the lore freaks, that Maiev seems to be siphoning demonic energies, seeing as her eyes have gone green As is a sign of demonic influence, when it comes to elves. Whether it's by choice or by force remains to be seen.

He faced off against Archimonde, and was properly "owned". But, he's not dead. When Illidan was captured after trying to make a second Well of Eternity, Maiev was assigned to guard him. After he escaped and was corrupted by the Skull of Gul'dan, Maiev decided that he was too dangerous and vowed to find him and lock him away again. Maiev chased Illidan across Azeroth to the tomb of Sargeras, where Illidan caved the tomb in, in an attempt to trap Maiev and her Watchers.

Sort of like payback for them keeping him locked up. Maiev used her powers to teleport out and left her trapped Watchers in the tomb to die. Maiev joined up with Tyrande Whisperwind and Malfurion Stormrage and continued to chase Illidan after that.

The three of them were attacked by undead, Tyrande managed to fend them off but was swept away in the river. Maiev stopped Kael from saving her so that they wouldn't lose time. She then lied to Malfurion and told him Tyrande had been torn apart and that it was Illidan's fault so that Malfurion would get mad and help her defeat Illidan.

Which they did, stopping Illidan from destroying the Lich King in the process. Kael'thas told Malfurion that Tyrande hadn't been torn apart, only swept away in the river and he turned on Maiev, entangling her in roots.

Maiev, pretty much driven mad by her thirst for vengeance at this point, gathered her Watchers and followed Illidan into Outland. When you fight Illidan in The Burning Crusade, near the end of the fight Maiev shows up and helps you defeat Illidan, finally ending her long, drawn out hunt across worlds.

Last thing Illidan says as he dies is "The Huntress is nothing without the hunt. You are nothing without me. Comment by Much love for Maiev, my favorite Warcraft character. May she get some peace in the end, although it doesn't seem like it considering the conversation at the black temple.

Comment by ok i no it'll never happen but maybe later she'll use her powers as a fromer priestess to ressurect illidan. Comment by Actually, Jarod Shadowsong is dead. He was killed by Illidan when it was discovered that Illidan had made a new well of eternity. That is why Maiev is so consumed with vengence for illidan. He didnt tell her no, but he did not give her his blessing.

I am curious to see if blizzard will do anything with Furion regarding the players slaying of Illidan. Comment by Liri Akama yells: Now is the time, Maiev! Unleash your wrath! Maiev Shadowsong yells: I've waited for this moment for years.
